The material is mostly used in the past few decades, making water and gas polyethylene pipelines. Obtained by polymerization of ethylene and for pipes and fittings commonly used HDPE (high density polyethylene).

High flexibility and malleability, resistance to acids and chemicals, as well as a great shock resistance are just some of the reasons for the increasing incidence of these pipelines.
